Top Games Releasing in May 2011

The Witcher 2
Release Date: May 17, 2011
Platform(s): PC
Amazon Preorder Bonus : $10 Gift Certicicate

The Witcher 2 is the sequel to one of my personal favorites RPGs of the last decade. Selling over 1 million copies on PC alone, the first game was a worldwide hit and a favorite of critics. If you have not played the original Witcher or you don’t have a save file from the first game, you owe it to yourself to play it before the Witcher 2 releases on May 17th. The Witcher 2 will have a save import feature like that of Mass Effect in which your choices from the first game will carry over into the second game. As with the first game, we can expect a unique tale of an unusual hero and a game where our choices throughout will have long lasting consequences.

L.A. Noire
Release Date: May 17, 2011
Platform(s): Xbox 360, PS3
Amazon Preorder Bonus: $10 Giftcard & Broderick Detective Suit

From the creators of Red Dead Redemption, L.A. Noire will be one of the few games this year that is not a sequel and a new unique new game. Set in the 1940’s you will play as a detective in Los Angeles that must investigate and solve crimes throughout the city. Using state of the art face capture technology, interrogation will be a big focus of the game in which you will have to determine if a person is lying by their facial expressions. I personally can’t wait to play this as detective work and mystery games has always been a personal favorite of mine and everything I’ve seen on this game looks brilliant.

Release Date: May 10, 2011
Platform(s): Xbox 360, PS3, PC
Amazon Preorder Bonus: $10 Giftcard & The Psycho Pack

Brink is another new IP releasing this year that will have some of the core concepts of Team Fortress but with added features that will set it apart. In Brink there will be objectives for each player to accomplish to help the overall team that will require players to work together, but in different paths for a common goal. There are four character classes (soldier, medic, engineer and operative) that each will offer their own unique skills, weapons, & gameplay objectives. Each class will be able to support the other players as well as combat the enemy. Brink will also feature a "SMART" system that will enable all classes to quickly climb, jump, crawl, etc. through the map as needed to get where ever a player needs to be quickly similar to Assassin's Creed. Brink looks like it will be a fun team based multiplayer game that should be full of hours of entertainment.

Hunted: The Demon's Forge
Release Date: May 31, 2011
Platform(s): Xbox 360, PS3, PC

Hunted: The Demon's Forge is a co-op game published by Bethesda that will feature 2 unique characters that must work together to destroy their enemies. Caddoc is a large brute warrior that smashes his foes with the might of his weapon and E’lara is a ranged archer that disposes of foes at a distance. Both characters will have a unique set of skills, magic spells, and the ability to heal and buff the other player that will make the other character a constant source of support instead of a burden. Overall this game seems like it will be a fast paced action packed Hack and slash that will be loads of fun to play with a friend.
